Although quite mature, the processing of polymers can become a black art filled with wiffle dust and gremlins. Due to the vast number of influences working on a polymer, processing for quality performance might seem to depend on which foot your standing on or how you part your hair on any given day.
With expert PhD on staff equipped with practical real time molding experience we have solved problems in extrusion, injections and blow molding applications to name a few.
Similarly, our processing experience extends to recycled polymers and processing with recycled virgin blends. We can offer something as simple as melt flow analysis of materials to as complicated as designing or re-designing equipment to accommodate optimum material or part performance.
Polymer Applications
Many times parts are designed and materials are selected for maximum part performance only to find that the part may work too well or not well enough; yet tooling or material commitments may have been engaged. We have developed additional processing procedures to enhance existing parts, additives to enhance or change performance characteristics or equipment to compliment the existing processes yet resolve performance problems.

PSI has several patents in equipment configurations and processes that revolutionize the use and re-use or polymer materials. These include new pulverization, separation and processing developments.
