Polymer Sciences Styrofoam - Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) - Recycling Facility: PSI has 10,000 sq. ft. dedicated to EPS recycling and pelletizing in our Atlanta facility. With this plant we shred, grind, sort and repelletize Styrofoam blocs, bales and loose material. Since these materials have a relatively light bulk density, we have installed a 50 hp shredder to accommodate the largest and heaviest bales to accommodate growing environmental concerns and customer demands. These materials are typically difficult to prepare for transport and ship. Our staff can line up balers to be placed in your facility to condense loads and help facilitate transport. This allows greater geographical coverage of available materials to meet the environmental challenges that today's pro-active enterprise encounters.
Similarly, we have opened and maintain a drop off box at our facility for ecologically conscious consumers that like to act responsibly with their Styrofoam packaging scrap (packing peanuts, shipping foam for TVs and computers, drink & food cups, etc.). This box is opened to the public week-days from 7:am to 5:pm. Scraps must be clean and free of all tape, residue and contaminates, especially residue food and drink (these must be washed out thoroughly). If you have any questions, please contact our facility at 404.346.0696. Our desire is to grow small satellite facilities around the Atlanta Metro area and receive scrap Styrofoam from consumers on a large scale. As this requires considerable capital we are looking for funding to implement our plans and then progress Nationally, but for now we have to be content with a drop off box at our Atlanta plant for consumers.
