Polymer Sciences recycles and supplies recyclable materials to processors and OEM's world wide. This includes managing plastic scrap for molders and OEM's as-well-as compounding and pelletizing materials for your re-processing. All of our materials are professionally managed by Polymer Sciences carefully controlling the collection, transportation, shredding, grinding, repelletizing, compounding and re-distribution of materials to reduce possible contaminates and insure lot to lot consistency and reliability. We work directly with factories generating scrap and due to our unique relationships work to control the quality of the material coming out of the factories as well as processing to meet customer specifications. This allows us greater flexibility in a market that is not generally accustomed to stringent practices and procedural checks and balances. Selling: Simply selling scrap out "the back door" is not a solution to the problem. Managing the scrap material generated from production processes brings greater benefits and higher yields to the Enterprise system. Polymer Sciences can manage multi-plant environments over a broad range of materials allowing greater control on material disposition and reporting throughout your Enterprise allowing you firm to reign in scrap materials to the fullest benefit of over all corporate efforts.
- Buying: Similarly, if your firm has made the decision to utilize scrap or recycled content materials in production, we can help in supply of these materials. With our pelletizing / Compounding facilities we engineer the mix for consistency in supply, establish reliable feed streams of material, maintain cleanliness and process the material to you specifications allowing your firm to maintain the quality controls and expectations you have become accustomed in your own product lines using virgin resins.
- Re-Use: Many firms want to re-use their own scrap material or
utilize recycled content materials for their production needs. However, the
experiences and memories of earlier attempts come back to haunt and
discourage these attempts. PSI sets up use and re-use programs of
recycled content material feed streams that allow your production and
quality department trouble free operation. Whether the material is re-used
from your facility, a sister facility or simply acquisitioned by our
qualified staff and then blended to specific and dependable characteristics;

- Re-pelletization / Compounding
- PSI has several repelletization lines under our 50,000 sq ft. facilities
in Atlanta, GA. Currently we process expanded polystyrene (EPS), also known
as Styrofoam, engineered resins and various polyolefin materials. These
materials are then responsibly applied back into the regeneration or molding of new
products, diverting them from land fill. Firms that utilize these services
may want to re-use plastic materials in a consistent, reliable and uniform
format, or they may want to develop a feed stream of recycled content

- Shredding & Grinding Services
- PSI supplies full service shredding and grinding of plastic materials through out North America and Mexico. Although most projects are geographically challenged, we have the capability to grind in one of our own facilities with the added ability to set up reclaim programs in any geographical area that will best suite your company and allow you the greatest returns. PSI has our own fleet of trailers to drop trailers at our clients facilities, and we can arrange a trailer at any location as well. Our programs go beyond simply trying to master scrap out your back door, we manage material programs for the benefit of your full enterprise system, with the capability for you to single source our services for multiple facilities. We then supply detailed reports to your company for environmental, internal - management and production analysis or regulatory requirements. - Styrofoam, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Recycling
- At our Wheaton Drive facility in Atlanta, Ga. we recycle several million pounds of EPS styrofoam material every year. Companies and consumers may contact our Wheaton facility to arrange material pickup and deliveries. Although we do have a consumer drop off at our facility, we do not pick up small volumes nor do we have city-wide pickup or alternate pick-up locations. All materials must be free and clean of tape and trash to be recycled (please, no used food containers unless thoroughly washed). - Commodity Scrap Plastic Material - HDPE, HMW-HDPE, PP and others

PSI is one of the largest suppliers of aftermarket HMW-HDPE regrind and flake material. We also have the capability to repelletize and compound these materials, including adding compatibilizers and stabilizers, to allow runs of higher ratio recyclables to virgin. Our experiences also include drying techniques, screw alterations and machine adjustments that reduce the effects of mingled materials like EVOH to allow molders greater yield and mold-ability.
- Engineered Scrap Plastic Materials
- PSI supplies various aftermarket materials including Nylon (PA),
Polystyrene, Expanded Polystyrene, PVC, TPO's, and painted TPO for molding or compounding. These
materials, as all materials from PSI, are consistent from lot to lot,
professionally packaged, and free of contaminates (excluding the painted
materials).
- Organizing, Re-packaging, Drying and Cleaning
- From time to time companies may face losses in materials due to moisture and contaminations, or may require repackaging due to collapsed boxes, download from bulk truck to boxes or remove material from silo for re-sale or re-placement; PSI has over 10 years of experience handling most any imaginable scenario and challenge.
